Who we are
This policy covers personal information handled by Avtext Pty Ltd trading as Sue White Photography (ABN 88 116 839 037) in connection with Rob & Sue - Party of 2, including this website, The Journal, At the table, enquiries and our creative services.
We handle information under this policy and the Australian privacy laws that apply to our business. Questions and requests can be sent to hello@robandsuepartyof2.com.
Information we collect
The information we handle depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- Your name, email address and telephone number.
- Your business or organisation, enquiry details, project plans and correspondence.
- Your subscription preferences and records of consent or unsubscribe requests.
- Photographs, video, audio and identifying details where we photograph or interview you, or you supply material for a project or story.
- Necessary client, billing and transaction records when we provide paid services.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, dates, times and referring pages, where recorded by our server or a third-party feature.
Please avoid sending sensitive information, such as health or identity documents, unless it is necessary and we have discussed how it will be handled. You can browse without sending an enquiry or subscribing. Without the contact or project details needed for a request, we may not be able to fulfil it.
How we collect it
We receive information directly when you email or contact us, use an enabled enquiry or signup form, arrange a project, or participate in a shoot or interview. We may also receive information through social platforms or from someone authorised to contact us on your behalf.
Our website server and third-party features may receive technical information when a page or embedded service loads. Information you voluntarily supply in public comments or on social platforms is also subject to that platform’s settings and policies.
If a form tells you that a message has not been sent or a signup is not yet available, that form has not submitted your details to us. You can use our email address to contact us instead.
How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, plan and deliver projects, administer client relationships, keep necessary business records, maintain website security and resolve problems or complaints.
Where you agree to participate in content, we use the relevant photographs, recordings and details for the agreed purpose. Publication and licensing arrangements are discussed for the particular project. If you have a concern about material that identifies you, contact us with a link or description.
Newsletter and promotional emails are sent with your consent. We do not automatically add people who make an enquiry to our newsletter.
Email updates and your choices
If you subscribe, we use your name and email address to send the updates you requested and manage your subscription. An email delivery service may process those details on our behalf when that service is enabled.
You can opt out at any time through the unsubscribe instructions in an email or by emailing us. We action marketing unsubscribe requests within five working days. We may keep a limited record of your preference to avoid contacting you again.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary replies about an enquiry, active project or legal matter. We do not sell or rent our mailing list.
Cookies, maps, fonts and other websites
As at the date of this policy, we have not installed our own advertising pixels or a third-party analytics tracker on this website. Our own page scripts do not set tracking cookies. Server logs and third-party services can still receive technical information.
The site hosts its fonts on our own server, so loading them does not send a font request to Google. Some articles display embedded Google Maps. Your browser connects to Google when a map loads. Google receives information associated with the request, such as your IP address, and maps may use cookies or similar technologies under Google’s Privacy Policy. Displaying a Google Map does not mean we use Google Analytics.
Links to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy policies. If third-party video or other media is embedded in a page, the provider may also receive information when it loads or plays.
You can manage cookies and third-party requests through your browser or device settings. Blocking them may affect maps, media or the appearance of the website. We update this policy when the tools and practices we use materially change.
Information processed overseas
DigitalOcean and Google operate internationally, including in the United States. Depending on the service and hosting configuration, technical information and other information handled by a provider may be processed outside Australia.
Google describes its international processing in its privacy policy. Information about DigitalOcean’s processing arrangements is available in its Data Processing Agreement. We do not represent that all information stays in Australia.
Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps required by applicable law to protect it. Contact us if you need more information about the services handling your information. We update these details when a new email or other data-handling service is introduced.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold against misuse, loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Appropriate measures depend on the information and the systems used. No internet service or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, applicable recordkeeping obligations and resolving legitimate disputes. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain until they are replaced in the ordinary backup cycle.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete information that is no longer needed. Email us with enough detail to identify the information and request. We may need to verify your identity without collecting more information than necessary.
We respond within a reasonable period. If a lawful exception prevents access, correction or deletion, we explain the reason where we can and tell you how to raise a concern. Some records may need to be retained for legal or business obligations.
Complaints and policy updates
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please email us with the relevant details. We acknowledge your complaint and aim to provide a response within 30 days. If more time is needed, we let you know.
If the matter is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the complaint falls within its jurisdiction.
We may revise this policy as our website, providers or practices change. The updated version and date appear on this page. We provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate.
