# Map Animator routing data

Map Animator uses BRouter 1.7.10 with databases generated from OpenStreetMap source. The generation process uses no elevation files or additional pseudo-tag datasets. BRouter is MIT licensed. Its original licence is available at https://robandsuepartyof2.com/map-animator/legal/routing/brouter-LICENSE.original.txt .

For another installed dataset, use https://robandsuepartyof2.com/map-animator/routing-source/DATASET-ID.osm.pbf, replacing DATASET-ID with the dataset value recorded in the manifest. Immutable regional originals are available at https://robandsuepartyof2.com/map-animator/routing-source/by-sha/SOURCE-SHA256.osm.pbf when the recorded original filename contains that SHA256.

The server retains original extracts and generated databases. Reproduction uses scripts/build-osm-only-routing.py and scripts/install-routing-region.py with the pinned BRouter engine and profiles, an empty elevation directory and no pseudo-tag input. The editor reuses installed routing coverage or prepares a containing region from the official Geofabrik catalogue. New regions may take several minutes. Source extracts are limited to 2 GiB and a single installed dataset must cover each requested section. Catalogue availability does not prove that every region has been successfully built or tested. Straight-line routes and imported tracks do not require a road calculation.

Generated geometry is for animation. It does not establish current road restrictions, lawful access, safe navigation or ferry timetables.
